View Full Version : Central Florida Ranges No RO
Do they exist?
I was looking around and all I found was CFRPC, which looks great, but I'd prefer not having a RO over my shoulder.

Not that I'm aware of.

How about the range off of 40 in the Ocala Nat. Forrest?

Titusville Rifle & Pistol Club has range officers but they do not stand over your shoulder (at least not mine). Last time I went the RO helped to get us started with targets, etc then an hour later he spent a few minutes with us, just being social and then I never saw him again.
But at the same time, I kind of like to know someone is there on the grounds just in case there would be a problem, injury, etc.

titusville rifle and pistol club gives you some freedom, to a point. If you are looking for a place to try to "get away with something" like bump firing or emulating "THE BOX OF TRUTH" you may want to look elsewhere.

No, nothing illegal. I've just become accustomed to shooting without an RO and I think it'll be hard to go back to having one. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, I don't like an RO around, I hate waiting for cold and hot range. Takes all the fun and relaxation out of shooting, makes you feel like a little kid in a controlled environment. But, some of the RO's I've meet respect your space and can be very helpful, other's I've noticed hover over you the whole time.

the hardest thing i have found down here are ranges that allow to practice draw drills or other drills...save spending a couple hundred to take a course, slow fire is just about all that is allowed down here. no walking, fast draw, transitioning, etc. i would love to find a range to practice and work on practical skills, but it seems that ranges down here figure if your attacked you will maintain the weaver stance and keep proper sight alignment as the madman approaches in the blink of an eye! lol

RO's on duty...but they don't mess with you...unless need be. ;)
