Do you have a preference? Why?

I like the lightweight and feel of the P-Mag. But they are shaped in way that doesnt fit in an LBE well. The GI Mags are slim and stack well. Little heavier. But I guess I could use them as a throwing weapon if I had to! :twoguns:

I bought a bunch of Lancers when P-mags were simply not available. I kind of like being able to quickly check ammo.

I guess the relative "slickness" and durability of P-mags is the attraction.

GI mags have always been 100% reliable for me. Cheaper too.

If the P-mags don't seat easily trade them for something that does. Reliability is paramount unless your AR is just a plinker and your get up and go rifle is something else.

Its not that they dont seat well in the gun. They dont fit in a vest well. As they are slightly bigger with kind of a waffle bit on them and the base plates are thick at the bottom. So they dont slide in and out as smooth.

How do your Lancer mags work, good for ya?

I like them. They fit in the pouches I have, drop free when empty, and store loaded without covers to keep from deforming like P-mags need.

So far just as advertised.

Yup.

I've seen some discussion that this is a bad thing as you may get reflection flashes of the brass cases through the magazine.

I've discounted that as my ninja activities are very limited and if TSHTF all bets are off anyway.

Hahahaha. Ninja activities. You can always electrical tape them for that kind of thing lol

Id be interested in trying them. Right now I own 3 P-mags. 2 C-Product GI mags. And 2 GI issue mags back from Iraq from a friend.

All have worked well. The C-product I have to say, for the price i paid, are quite the steal.

I've spent way too many hours on AR15.com. over the years. It seems that most mags work well unless they've been beat up, stepped on or abused/rusted in some way. I'd just stay away from the "off" brands.

Check out the "magazine" section for everything you've ever wanted know about AR mags.

I have mostly Pmags. Windowed and non-windowed.

They fit in the tac vest I use, and I like having the dust covers on them. The dust cover keeps the spring weight off the feed lips, which regular aluminum mags have issues with in long term storage.

I'll use anything, but Pmags are nearly the same price as regular GI mags if you look carefully, so thats what I buy.

Nothing but P-Mags for me. 10 windowed, 3 non.

FYI, Magpul has a new "eMag" see below:

To enhance compatibility with double and triple magazine pouches as well as aftermarket mag couplers, the EMAG features a slim, rib-less, anti-snag profile. Front-to-back and side-to-side dimensions have been adjusted to ensure compatibility with as many STANAG 4179 weapons as possible, including most non Colt-spec AR15 rifles.

EMAG features a pop-off Impact/Dust Cover to prevent dirt and debris intrustion and protect the feedlips from impact damage during storage. When not in use, the dust cover can be stored on the magazine floorplate.

For easier and more accurate identification of loaded round count via the large, single-side MagLevel window, the stainless steel magazine spring is now coated with milspec black oxide and the indicator coil painted with a high visibility orange color. Numerical indicators have been added to the body to identify 5, 15, and 25 loaded rounds.
