I tried to get to the spot where i can attach my custom avatar but can only get to edit avatar and not able to go further to custom.Please help?

Yep, having the same prob myself. Only offers to let me edit....no ability/choice to add an Avatar.

If you can get to edit avatar you can upload from you computer your custom avatar. What's the problem?

I went to where you can choose to edit avatar.I click on edit avatar
and i get a blank white page.Tryed it several times.Others are having same problem.
The other forums i am on are set up the same way but when you click on edit avatar
it goes to a screen where you can choose theirs or upload your own and I have uploaded
on 3 other sites,sorry but this is whats happening.

Let me check it out with the Admin and see what's up. Just hang with me for a day or two and I'll see what's up and get this fixed.

Here's what I found out about the avatars.
They can't be over 80x80 in size or you will get a X and blank screen. I guess you guys need to reduce them down. You can do it with MS Office or at Photobucket. Hope this helps. :biggrin:

Try putting it on Photobucket and resizsing it and then link it in to the avatar page of yours. That's how most of the guys do it. Good luck.

Here's what I found out about the avatars.

I can make it 20x20 and it doesn't matter as there is no option to upload/insert one, that option is not offered at all. There is just no option to upload an avatar at all. This most likely is an option that needs to be allowed/activated in the sites Administration control panel I would imagine.:biggrin:

I only say this because this was the case with a few forums I have run in the past and I know that in those the Avatar option had to be "allowed" in the Admin's Forum CP.

I flipped the switch to custom on Swampcracker67, Bikerboy and Chuckusaret. I suspect its the animated avatar that is being blocked as Travis may have set that up for Gold and prem members.

Try it again and see if it works for you.

I did a test and put up a animated biker avatar for "bikerboy" and it loaded just fine. You can go to your profile and change it at any time.

I added avatars to "swampcracker67" and "chuckusaret" also to see if it is working properly.

You can go in and change them anytime you choose.

Thanks SIG,that's kinda cool! I did try to edit avatar again but itjust gives me save changes or reset fields or use no custom avatar .It dose'nt give you the drop down to upload your own.But what you added works for me.

You have to buy a membership to have that function. Put up whatever picture you want as an avatar as a profile picture and I will add it in as an avatar for you. I see you have a caveman in there now, do you want that set up as an avatar??

Is this true? This is the second thread that I've read and the first time that I saw it posted. If so, it makes it impossible for the individual to change should they find one they like better.

I put up the best picture of me that I could find. Maybe you'd move it to may avatar when you get a chance? Thanks!

Doesn't seem to be showing up guys. I'm not up on VB but I think you'll find that you need to enable it somewhere in the admin panel so that the members can do it themselves.

$10 bronze, $15 silver, $20 gold. With bronze & silver, you can have a signature pic, and with gold you can also have an animated avatar.
