I can't figure out what's wrong with S.C.

When I drive to Tennessee, I always have to stop in Georgia, put the firearm in a locked case in the trunk until I get to North Carolina. Craz. If you stay in a hotel in SC, you can legally carry the firearm into your room from your vehicle and keep it with you.

Bucky69 when I go to the Tri City's in north east Tn. I through Ga. up 75 to 40 and then 81 that way I don't have to go through SC

Since my truck doesn't have a trunk I put the Glock in it's case locked WITHOUT bullets, place the bullets in another box locked and place both of those boxes in an ammo can modified with a lock on the outside, until I'm out of S.C.

Ridiculous. Essentially you drive through the state defenseless. :(

You can Have a Loaded Pistol or Revolver in your Glovebox while in SC.

Hopefully next year we will add SC????

God Bless!!!!

Didn't we get Nevada too?

It is funny that when I was a kid I always wanted to pass through SC while traveling. It was the best place to pick up fireworks on the way home 8)

So what dose this mean (I understand visiting/driving in the state)... As in, say I wanted to move to New Hampshire to live, would I just show them my FL CWL and they would issue me a New Hampshire CWL? How about Vermont, what dose that mean (Honors), or "Honors" is what I am asking about New Hampshire? Yes I have you confused on what I have typed, so we are even  .

NH is an open carry state and will issue a CWL very easily from what I have read.

(1) While Florida's law allows licensees to carry stun guns, knives, and billy clubs in a concealed fashion, the laws in these states allow for concealed carry of handguns or pistols ONLY, NOT WEAPONS IN GENERAL. Florida license holders are prohibited from carrying other types of weapons while in these states.

(2) The State of VERMONT is unique in that it does not issue weapon/firearms licenses. Florida licensees - indeed, licensed or unlicensed citizens from any state - may carry in Vermont. This presents a problem for reciprocity with Florida. Florida law provides that an out-of-state resident must have in his or her immediate possession a valid license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm. Since Vermont residents have no such license, the right to concealed carry cannot be extended to them under Florida law.

(3) Individuals qualify for concealed weapon licenses in these states upon reaching 18 years of age. HOWEVER, any licensee of these reciprocity states who is not 21 years of age or older IS PROHIBITED from carrying a concealed weapon or firearm in Florida.

(4) These states will honor the Florida concealed weapon license ONLY IF the licensee is a resident of the State of Florida.

(5) The Attorney General's Office of the State of ALABAMA has indicated that Alabama will honor BOTH resident and non-resident Florida licenses. However, the Alabama Attorney General notes that there is some uncertainty as to the limits of Alabama's reciprocity law as it pertains to non-resident licenses. Pending clarification by the Alabama Legislature or a decision by an Alabama court, he urges non-resident Florida license holders to exercise caution. Refer to the Alabama AG's Web page for the latest information.

(6) These states issue concealed carry licenses to qualified individuals who are non-residents. These non-resident permits cannot be honored under Florida's reciprocity provision.

thats straight from the horse mouth at http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/news/c ... carry.html (http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/news/concealed_carry.html)

So hopefully that will make somethings a little less confusing on this issue and updated the map too ;)

And as for S.C. I have had problems in that state in the past and recommend just avoiding it as much as possable and when nessasry drive the speed limit and get out ASAP!!

I moved to NC a year ago, only stayed for 6 months and moved back to FL.
Up there you have to start all over with all the BS to get a CCL, and get a permit for each gun purchase.
I'm happy I moved away from there, they're going to tax people to breath some day.

Effective July 1, 2009 Nevada cancelled it's "reciprocity" with not only the state of Florida but also Utah. The above map does not reflect this current change yet. Also....Florida gained reciprocity with South Carolina quite some time ago. The map needs updating badly...

We just lost Nevada due to the time extension from 5years to 7 years. I don't understand that thought process.
