The book "Florida Firearms Law, Use & Ownership" By Jon H. Gutmacher, Esq., is considered by many to be the Bible of Florida Firearms. The book is an excellent resource for questions you may have about firearms in Florida. It is written in straightforward, easily understood, non-legalese language. While the book is an excellent resource, keep in mind that for legal advice, you should always consult directly with an attorney regarding specific questions.

Just purchased it. $36.95 shipped from his website. I found it on Amazon, but it was $51.00 plus shipping.

I think some gun shops will also have copies of the book for around $27 or so, but if you order it from the author's website, you'll probably get an autographed copy.

If you go to a gun show they are sold by the people holding the CWP Class. I think there up to about $27 at the show. :)

My book came in today. You were right, it is autographed. I read about 25 pages already and feel like it is going to be a good read.

There is no better resource for Florida firearms law - if you own a gun in Florida, you absolutely need this book - it answers any question you might have, and will help you stay out of trouble. I'm on my second copy, bought the 3rd edition years ago. The current version is 6 - don't buy an older version on Amazon, as the new laws are not covered.

I recently called Mr. Gutmachers office and spoke with someone for a few moments. Not sure who it was, but this person told me that the latest and greatest version of the book will be out by the end of May, and I should wait until then to make the purchase. And so I will do just that. Just thought that you might like to know in case you are fixin' to get a book. My latest one is going on two years old so I was getting ready to get a new one.
best regards, Mike
