I am always concerned about my wife being too trusting. The glass is always half full, so to speak.
How can you convince a trusting person to avoid the predator traps and become more aware of their surroundings? What has worked for you?
Many women have no interest in packing a weapon for self defense! Will they have to experience a threat before they "get it" and arm themselves?
Your thoughts?

My wife is very good with her little Kimber and I think she has the grit to stop an attack. She's fairly good at keeping track of what's going on around her when we are out.

my wife has gone from constant condition white to almost constant yellow/orange iirc. she has her ccw and carries.
the stepdaughter is the typical condition white cell phone droid. she's gotten better but still needs work. she can work a semi auto pistol and revolver so that's a start.
i might get an airsoft gun and ambush her a few times to see if that helps her awareness. :)
i have taken to walking up behind her to watch her freak out when she turns around but she still doesn't quite get it. :?

Yes, I worry about my wife. She was raised with Anti's, and while she has a P22 to plink with, she isnt even comfortable with me carrying, let alone herself.

I do not worry about my wife, as she carries, however I do worry about my daughter, as she must walk home evey day from school because buses will not go to our house, even though to get from school to our house, there is a highway and a row of crackhouses. We started picking her up, but still she walks to school evey morning.

My wife refuses to carry. She thinks if she walks with attitude she will be safe. She carries a purse that is stuffed full. She has every credit card she owns in that purse. Has 2 check books. I keep telling her to empty it out and only carry what you need but she knows better. I worry every time she goes out.

Be very careful.
I read about a 14 yo girl whose mom & dad returned home to find the door open, freaked out thinking their daughter was asleep, drew and started searching the house, the daughter jumped out to surprise her dad, and boom he killed her ...

I had to get into this.
My loving wife of 9 years is a beautiful, full-figured brunette that stands a very long-legged 5'-11" and carries a P3AT '24/7' and a Millenium Pro .45 when she can.
I do not worry about her, instead I worry about everyone else. :D
She patrols the back yard after dark with the .410 when my foot hurts too bad. She has more kills than me.

Hi All,
Does your wife watch the news? Look at the crime. We have seen years of this and its getting worse. Trust no one and lock your car and house, Day and night. My wife carries a Glock 27 and a Kahr P380. She got her carry license in 96. I told her if she has to draw her gun she better use it. If she hesitates and her attacker takes her gun from her, he will kill her with it. She knows that now. Most bad guys are repeat offenders that break the peace of this world. Its you or them. We are peaceful law abiding citizens. We deserve to live. Take the bad guy out. You will be doing the world a favor. He wont be able to put a hurting on anyone anymore. One more piece of crap bg out of this world will make it a safer place to live.
I bought her the Kahr 380 because its lighter to carry. She was leaving her gun home because the Glock is heavier. Its better to have a smaller caliber gun, than no gun at all. If you want your wife to carry everyday, get her a small gun. The other day my wife informed me that she was carrying two guns. Glock 27 in her belly band holster and the Kahr 380 in her pocket. But that only lasted a few days. I think shes trying to copy my carry program. Lol.
