Quick question. Can I shoot a shotgun at Knights' range?

Thanks.

Are you talking about Knights Shooting Sports on US19 south of Ulmerton in Pinellas? If so, sure you can. That's where I've been going with my Ruger Charger. They have like 8 pistol lanes and 7 rifle lanes. Nice place and the people are very helpful. They have quite a selection of rental guns too.

Yeah you can shoot there... but I think you might be better served elsewhere. While their facilities are modern and clean, their range rates are outrageous. Bill Jackson's (also on US19 just a little farther south on the east side) or Wyoming Antelope club have better range rates.

Knights: $20/hour
Wyoming Antelope Club: $20 Unlimited shooting (on weekends), $3 for members
Bill Jackson: $20 Unlimited, $15 with ammunition purchase

Stay safe,
Dan

Never paid $20 at Knights. I believe it is more like $15-17. Also, they discount for prior military service. I have yet to go to Wyoming Antelope Club or Bill Jackson. What are their range lengths?

Bill jackson has a pistol only range, not particularly long... maybe 25 yards.

Wyoming has, on their main line, 10, 25, 50 and 100 yard ranges.

Went to Wyoming Antelope Club today for the first time. Nice place. Didn't get there until 3:30pm, but for $20 till they closed at 5pm wasn't bad. Going to got back there next week after I pick up my Makarov and also take my shortened .410. Should be fun shooting some 5 pellet buckshot on the pistol range.

Is the Wyoming Antelope Club outdoor?

On a side note, does anyone know if any of these ranges mentioned here (Knights, BJ, Wyoming) offer instruction to new shooters?

The Wyoming Antelope Club is an outdoor range. I don't know about all the ranges, but I know that there are various classes offered by knight's.

If you go the the antelope club, odds are that one of the range operators would be more than happy to share some wisdom with you. It is likely they offer some classes and various forms of instruction. I wish I knew better especially since I'm a member...

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping to check out Antellope, Manatee, and Knights and join one of those as a member.

**Just my opinions, all users preferences and initial experiences will vary**

If you want rifle, shotgun, and pistol shooting - the Wyoming Antelope Club is the way to go. If you're just wanting to shoot Pistol the majority of the time, then joining the St Pete Police Pistol Club or paying for a Bill Jackson membership would work out best.

Knights is far overpriced. They have shiny equipment, but all their prices are over the top. Many people don't care for their staff either. Paying 14$/hr when you have 4 other ranges nearby is not competitive, so I won't go there again. Only people that go there for stuff are cops because they get a really nice discount but the officers I know are getting turned off by them now.

Bill Jackson's has very old-style equipment but it is 15$ all-day or 10$ all-day if you buy their ammo. Plus there is always a lane open, even on the weekend.

The Wyoming Antelope Club is supposedly a great organization, but their website could do better to provide info other than "join us and our lack of communication".

St Pete Police Pistol Club is probably the best bet for pistol shooters. They are 12$ all-day and if you get there early they don't harass you if you spend 4 hours shooting 300 rounds while they have a few people in line. My only gripe is that they are closed on Fridays which is my only time to myself without getting grief since the woman works that day and I don't.

I hope you find what suits you best and you enjoy your time there.

One place I won't mention much is Shoot Straight because it's a heck of a drive, but they the only 100-yard indoor rifle range in Central Florida (that I'm aware of at least).

I agree with you on all points. I am a member of wyoming antelope club because it serves all of my needs. As for knights... not only are their range rates high, their inventory prices are outrageous. For most handguns they are asking at or above MSRP. (and have since before the craziness)

Bill Jackson's is great, but not for me. They won't let me put magnums down range...

Also, I misread the original post. I did not see the "shotgun" part of it. One cannot shoot shotguns at bill jackson's.
