Will Union members, who own firearms, vote for Second Amendment rights?
Will union members vote as per instructions from their Labor leaders?
Will union members just vote for Ron Paul, because they don't like the other choices, and they don't care?

Considering that unions are trying to take away the right of the secret ballot from its membership for union votes...
Yes, the results will be interesting.

Union leaders are in the same class as politicians. Most all are liars and will tell you what you want to hear. If you want to stir up a Union meeting ask this question one time [Who gives you the leaders of this local the right to give our dues money to the Dumborcratic Party?] Be ready to fight your way out of the hall. 8)

Yes, and its going to be interesting when and if Obama wins the Democratic nomination. The unions will back him and but the membership which is heavy white blue collar will never stand for it. They will switch to McCain, thats my bet.
These folks are hunters, fishermen, gun enthusiasts, NASCAR fans, beer drinkers, etc. To think that they will back a Black Activists and his activist wife is insane. This is being driven by the media and the big cities of America.

I've been a Fire Fighter and a Union member for 25 years. I understand how and why the Dems are supported by most Unions. Republicans typically aren't pro-union, so there's no big surprise there. I also know that when I visit my polling place, there's a definite difference between national and local races and how the outcomes 'can' affect me.
The Dems (or the IAFF for that matter) have little control or influence over my Union life on the local level. On the national level, however, the Dems are a threat to our Liberty. I will always vote for a pro 2A Presidential candidate.
On the local level, I have to gauge how much a given politician can do for me and my special interest group as it pertains to my job/pension benefits vs. their ability to harm the 2A or the Florida Constitution. Given the political face of Florida at present, there's very little that Florida House or Senate Dems can muster to get between me and my guns. When the numbers start to turn against me and the Dems are able to thwart pro-gun proposals, I'll stop wagering in favor of pro-labor politicians and vote for those who stand with me and the Constitution.
For those of you reading this who are Union members, you understand that there's a clear and measurable delineation between national and local politics. I've campaigned for local Dem politicians who have made promises to protect public safety and my pension benefits - all the while knowing that they probably tow their party's line against firearms.
There isn't a left-wing, socialist, anti-gun liberal Presidential candidate out there who's going to sway me to vote for them because my Union does.
I suspect that national politics being what they are, our Union leadership understands this and doesn't promote that mindset, too much!
